Via @rjme: highly recommend googling "Chixculub Crater" when you have a moment

From John Kogut's contribution to "50 years of QCD" (arxiv.org/abs/2212.11107):
"..,
the lattice Hamiltonian form of strongly coupled gauge
theories is playing a role in the development of Quantum Information Systems that may lead to new quantum computers and quantum detectors. [...] Perhaps, these contributions will
inspire the next generation of theorists who will push the frontiers of strongly coupled gauge theories into the
next era."

To this extent I'm really interested to know how the age breakdown of people on the #Fediverse. On one hand it would seem to make sense to me that most people here remember the "old internet" before the centralization and they're here to rekindle that flame of independence. On the other hand the youths are generally pretty up on this whole technology thing. I grew up on the internet and since then smartphones have become even more ubiquitous.

Do you follow too many people?

Do you want to organise your Mastodon home timeline into several themed mini-timelines that are easier to navigate?

You can do this on Mastodon using the "Lists" feature, and here's a guide all about it:

You can use Lists on third party apps like Tusky for Android or Metatext for iPhone/iPad, or on your server's website.

Those of you letting go of the #birdsite (permanently or not), you should download your Twitter archive before the new (clearly ill) boss screws it all up.

You'll find instructions at help.twitter.com/en/managing-y

An important tip for people posting threads with multiple toots so timelines don’t get clogged with tons of out of order toots. Original article: blog.djnavarro.net/posts/2022-

After a very exciting and inspiring workshop on methods for at mitp in Mainz last week, I used the opportunity to spend some time close to my hometown.
It's always fun to walk through vineyards along the - even with thick fog!

Who can see your toots? Whose toots can you see? Found this clarifying graphic at axbom.com/mastodon-tips/
